Situated just south of Colombo and near the beach resort of Mount Lavina is the Tyronne Fernando Stadium, home to the Sebastianites Club, fertile breeding ground for Lankan cricketers and all round great venue for a game on your tour.
The stadium has a capacity of 15,000 and made its international debut in 1992, where Australian skipper Alan Border made a century. Before the island gained full international status the great West Indian side of 1979 played here.
A spin friendly wicket, mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis and his international colleague, keeper Prasanna Jayawardene are currently in the Sebastianites ranks.
