The Royal Colombo Golf Club is tucked away in a quiet corner of the bustling city of Colombo. The course will challenge the low handicapper but also give the beginner a fair chance of breaking 100. An iconic railway lines runs down one side of the course, making for a rare challenge in the golfing world. While not the longest course in the world, tricky dog legs, tight greens and craftily placed water hazards make it a true test of skill.

Sri Lanka is famed for its flora and wildlife and Royal Colombo is no exception, where rare species of flora and fauna abound. Most intriguingly though is the bird life that abounds around the course, where over 75 species have been recorded, making a pleasant distraction if the golf is not going to well.

The club house is a rare treat designed in a Sri Lankan Classical fusion. A superb restaurant offering full meals to tasty snacks to compliment the fine array of whiskies and of course the famous Sri Lankan Arrack will heighten the celebration of a good round of life the spirits if you have spent more time in the rough rather than the fairway.
